Susan (Clark) Douglas, 83, of Salem, NH passed away on Saturday, July 5th at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.
Susan grew up in Salem, the daughter of the late Olive and Herbert Clark. She graduated from Woodbury High School, Salem, Class of 1959. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at St. David’s Church in Salem. Susan worked as an activities director at Nevins Nursing Home, and in later years, was on the board of directors for the Salem VNA. She also volunteered at Salem Haven visiting memory care patients. Susan found joy in spending time outdoors and she was a member of the NH Audubon Society. She enjoyed snowshoeing, hiking thru the forest, gardening, creating natural crafts and decorations and bird watching. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Susan will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 54 years, J. Tyler Douglas of Salem, NH; her beloved daughter, Bonnie Alexander and partner Allen Coburn; her stepchildren, John Douglas and partner Carol Smith and Susan Hopkins and partner Jeff Smith; her 3 grandchildren, Melissa Locke and husband Jeffrey, Douglas Hopkins and wife Hilary and Lindsay McCarthy and husband Matthew; 4 great grandchildren and several cousins including her dearly loved cousin Brian Raynowska. Special thanks to Sueanne Lacerda for her wonderful, and devoted care of Susan.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Holly Alexander and her son-in-law, Richard LaRochelle.
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2025, from 1:00 -3:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH.
